About Mrema Foundation
Serving the elderly of Kilimanjaro and Tanzania with dignity, love, and purpose since 2014.
The Story of Our Foundation
The Mrema Foundation was born out of a deep-seated desire to address the challenges faced by the elderly in Tanzania. Founded by Doreen Mrema, the foundation serves as a living tribute to the legacy of her late husband, Augustine Mrema.
We recognized that while many charitable efforts focus on children and youth, our elders are often left behind. They face isolation, poverty, and a lack of access to basic necessities like healthcare and nutrition.
Our mission is simple: to ensure that no elder in Tanzania feels forgotten. We go where others won't — to remote villages, prisons, and struggling care homes — to bring support and a reminder that their lives still hold immense value.
